If you have yet to experience the scenery this magical destination has to offer, make sure to mark this experience off your bucket list. Many don’t know the Sea of Cortez has one of the largest tidal bores in the world. At low tide, the water can recede as much as one mile, exposing the mysterious ocean floor. Aside from warm waters and fishing, the sand dunes make this destination perfect for ATV riding and water sports. And once the sun has set and the sea is calm make sure to look up and stargaze it will leave you in awe.

Karen’s house is absolutely lovely, set above the beach and very well appointed. Lovely large bedrooms – we were just there for night but I wish we could have stayed longer! Karen’s staff are very friendly and we absolutely loved the pool. We barbecued on the deck and simple enjoyed the beautiful sunset. I would highly recommend Karen’s place.

Great clean beaches, CA stylish home in the desert, friendly staff, a pool with a water fall and a new private path to beach make this place special. Environmentally, a couple things are surprising, hot water by use of gas instead of using a simple passiv heater on the roof..fresh water toilet instead of salt water flush and not a single solar panel was surprising to us.. After all this is a desert oasis. If you want a beautiful place for you and the family to get away – we recommend it, 4.5 hours from San Diego!

My stay was July 2020 during COVID cleaning ladies do a great job at sanitizing and cleaning everything. My family and friends had such an amazing time. The pool is nice and cool, however it dose need better maintenance since a lot of sand goes in it. Aside that everything was perfect. The view at night from the terrace was the highlight of the trip. We were up there from 1-3 am and you see dozens of shooting star, Mars and constellations. All the rooms are clean, with AC and own private bathroom. Definitely looking forward to coming back.
